About Abrasu

Abrasu Magazine is an online literary and artistic magazine dedicated to promoting recognition, appreciation, and respect for the rich and diverse cultures of Southeast Asia and Oceania. Based in Guam, we seek to address the misrepresentation and underrepresentation of these cultures by providing a platform for cultural and creative expression.

By creating a space for artists, writers, and creators to share their personal experiences with Southeast Asian and Oceanian culture, Abrasu Magazine seeks to foster cross-cultural understanding in our digital presence. We accept art of all kinds, from visual pieces to written works, and prioritize submissions recounting and/or exploring encounters with culture. Through an open submissions policy and a continuous reading period, Abrasu Magazine, named after the CHamoru word for “hug” or “together,” invites readers and contributors alike to embrace the value of culture as a unifying force.
