Thank you for considering Abrasu Magazine as a potential platform for your art! We operate with an open submissions policy, meaning we accept simultaneous submissions. If your piece has been published or accepted elsewhere, please inform us. We review submissions on a rolling basis and aim to publish once or twice a week (though this may vary based on the volume of submissions we receive).
As a small team of dedicated individuals, we appreciate your understanding regarding our response times. We strive to provide personalized feedback to all our potential contributors to nurture young writers, aged 25 and under, who are the focus of our publication. Our goal is to respond to submissions within two weeks to two months. If you haven’t heard from us within this timeframe, feel free to reach out via email for an update.
Please note that at this time, we are unable to compensate our contributors monetarily.
Abrasu Magazine is committed to providing a supportive platform for new and emerging voices in literature. We encourage submissions across a wide range of themes and genres, even if your work may not align perfectly with our cultural focus. Your unique perspective is valued here.
What we look for.
At Abrasu Magazine, we eagerly seek literature from youth that explores and celebrates Southeast Asian and Oceanian culture, though we also welcome a diverse range of themes and genres. Whether your work delves into cultural heritage, personal experiences, or social issues, we encourage submissions that reflect your special voice and perspective.
We welcome a variety of genres including fiction, short stories, creative nonfiction, poetry, and hybrid forms. If you have a piece you believe is worth sharing or are seeking a home for your work, we invite you to submit it for consideration.
What to avoid.
Please refrain from submitting work that promotes hate speech, discrimination, or explicit content. We do not accept submissions that contain plagiarism or infringe upon the intellectual property rights of others. We prioritize inclusive and respectful storytelling.
To ensure thorough consideration of each submission, we kindly request that poets submit up to three poems per submission and prose writers submit one piece per submission. Please await a response before submitting additional work.
We also kindly request that contributors wait at least two months after their submissions have been considered before submitting again. This allows our editorial team sufficient time to review and respond to submissions.

-
Please submit your work in a standard font (e.g., Times New Roman, Arial) and size (12 pt).
